Psychotherapy Services
While I am licensed to treat chemical addictions and trained to provide eating disorder treatment, I also possess experience in treating a variety of other issues and concerns. Truth be told, disordered eating and substance addiction rarely exist in a bubble. If this were the case, you could likely just stop drinking, stop using, and start eating normally. There are other things going on below the surface, and the eating disorder and/or addiction can simply be a manifestation of this. Some of these things might include:
Sadness and Low self-esteem
Self-defeating thoughts
Grief and Loss
Obsessions and Compulsions
Excessive Worry and Overthinking
Identity Concerns
Anger, Communication problems, and Conflict
Perfectionism and Fear of Failure
What to Expect in Session
All sessions are remote at this time for your safety and convenience. Every Telehealth video session will be carried out using HIPAA compliant technology.
I currently work with adults and adolescents 15 and older. I provide therapy services to individuals, couples, and families as well. Sessions will typically last for 50 minutes. Our initial session may be a little longer (60 to 75 minutes) to permit completion of intake documents and to get better acquainted. Our first couple of sessions will also include creating goals together and determining the course of our sessions. I encourage weekly sessions to start in order to keep up the momentum of therapy. Consistency tends to lead to better treatment outcomes. I want to set you up for long-term recovery! Therapy twice per week is also available if it is determined that you will benefit from the additional support. It is my goal to create the space that works best for you!
