Frequently Asked Questions

How can I schedule my first therapy appointment?

There are a few ways you can do this! You may call my office at (201) 523-4054 or email me at amy@amyconsovoy.com. The easiest way to request an appointment is by completing a short form by clicking the following link.

Do you offer individual, couples, or family therapy?

Yes, I offer all of the above! We can determine which type is best for you during your free phone consultation call.

What times are therapy sessions available?

Sessions take place Monday through Friday. We’ll figure out the best time to meet during our initial phone consultation. You can call my office at (201) 523-4054 or email me at amy@amyconsovoy.com to set-up your complimentary 15 minute session! You can also access my contact page by following this link!

What if I’m not sure I’m ready but I would still like to learn more about therapy?

I know that taking the first step in entering therapy is uncomfortable and scary. Please know that you are entering a safe space and a judgement free zone! If you’re still not sure if therapy is right for you, I offer a free 15-minute consultation service to answer any questions you might have. Give me a call or send me an email message by completing the following form.

I don’t live in northern New Jersey. Can I still see you?

Absolutely! Thanks to my ability to carry out confidential online sessions, I am able to see you regardless of the county you live in. As long as you are a New Jersey resident, you are good to go!

Do you accept insurance?

Yes! I provide both in-network and out-of-network mental health services. This means that the cost of therapy will vary depending on your insurance coverage. While I participate with many insurance plans, (including Aetna, Cigna, Optum, Oscar, and United Healthcare), this does not guarantee that services will be completely covered. I recommend contacting your insurance company to inquire about specific coverage for mental health services. As part of your onboarding process for therapy, we can conduct an insurance verification on your behalf to estimate the cost of therapy, (including copays and any out-of-pocket maximums).

Some of my clients do not have insurance benefits for mental health services. In this instance, I charge a private pay fee that will be collected at the start of your session. I am able to provide you with a monthly statement to provide to your insurance to request reimbursement. Please note that not all insurance plans provide reimbursement, and reimbursement rates vary from plan to plan. Please fill out my contact form if you have any other questions about my services or fees.

What forms of payment are acceptable for therapy?

Both credit and debit cards are accepted. If you are using your insurance for therapy, my insurance program partner (Alma) will collect your copay and any other cost associated with your plan. If you are using private pay (my cash rate), I will collect a fee directly from you the day of your sessions. In either scenario, Autopay can be set-up to make this process easy. We will set this up during your intake and onboarding process.

Do you provide online sessions?

Yes, I offer confidential telehealth sessions that you can attend from anywhere you have a private space with an internet connection. Sometimes getting to an office appointment is a hassle due to juggling your work schedule and trying to balance your home obligations, too. Before your scheduled session, you will receive a link to your own private meeting room. This means that you have access to your session no matter where life takes you!

Do you provide in person sessions?

No, in person therapy is not available at this time.
